update ma blog

Not updated in a while, no I didn’t forget…. Just cba. One of them weeks. Hopefully, I’ll be back on form shortly.

Where do I start? Friday I had the kids overnight, which was good apart from Kay’s house being a tip. Couldn’t blame her as such as she had a bad back and couldn’t do stuff around the house. As for the single mum and part time boyfriend she has staying there every now and then, that’s a different matter. I was of the view that they could at least have tidied the food off the floor, the clothes and made the house into some kind of order. By the morning, I had to get out of the house, so I took the kids to a nearby park. Had a nice sit in the sun while Rhys did his thing on the climbing frames.

Kayla didn’t arrive at the house when we agreed, 11 -12. She later explained that she had to go hospital. Fair dos. I’m not one who seeks petty things to argue about, so let it slide. Anyways, I pawned the children off onto the single mum that she has staying there, as I needed to be at the cinemas for 1pm to see Indy with friends.

The film went great. Settled in and bought myself a hot dog as I had had no lunch. Met up with my friends Chris and Katies, a couple who I befriended whilst I lived in Runcorn. They are cool and are always there when I want to go watch a film or go out but don’t want to go alone.

I loved the film. Harrison Ford was indeed back on form and it had everything you look for in a good film. The ending slightly left me bored, but overall the film rocked and I loved it loads. Definitely one to see. Don’t want to get blabbering on about it as I’ll spoil it for those who haven’t seen it.

Anyways, that night went out with long lost friend James. I was nervous to start off with as I hadn’t seen him in a while. Not sure why I was nervous to be honest. As soon as we got talking about old times, I soon realised he hadn’t changed a bit. Well, he is balding slightly and now has a good paying job. It was great to see him doing well where in the past I’ve seen other friends not doing well at all. Another good friend Andy, who I used to look up to and follow in a group was in trouble with police and drugs.

Me n James went by his house and got a lift from his mum to James’s friends house. His mother stated I hadn’t changed in the 10 years that had passed, which made me feel well even though it was just a thing said to pass the time on the journey. I have been feeling my age a bit lately with my arthritic knee and stuff. We set off walking into town shortly after meeting up with his friend Alan. Went into a few pubs. I even got on Karaoke singing my Karaoke favourite Save Tonight by Eagle Eye Cherry. I would never have thought about singing back 5 years ago. Must be the new me shining through. The few people in the bar applauded and the DJ even played it back as he did with everyone and it sounded decent.

The night got better as we moved on. Did shots and had pint after pint. James couldn’t hold his beer so steadily he became funnier and funnier lol. Our final destination was that of BBs in Widnes. It was reminiscent of a can of sardines in there and I found myself being bounced back and forth between sweaty middle aged men and pimple poppin teens. Good start…. Not. James met up with his younger brother David, who last time I seen was about 8. Geez how time flys. He remembered me and we got on well.

James was a beast on the dance floor and was in most of the girls faces and dancing all over them. I was dancing off to the side with some others, but couldn’t do what James was doing. I am more the skulking off in a corner type and shooting occasional flirting glasses off into the unknown hopefully seeking that hottie or something hoping that I’d get a dance or something. So, I danced….. alone. It wasn’t good on my confidence. Girls were choosing others to dance with other then me and I soon felt like the chubby kid at school not being chosen for the footie team…. Soon after I left and walked home. Thoughts ran through my mind .o(was it the dancing? Was it how I looked? Was it the fact that I was staring?) Perhaps I thought too much into it and never gave it enough time, or maybe I was in need of someone close, even if dancing that I got too upset and over-reacted. God I’m hopeless. I got home eventually and was knocked out before my head hit the pillow. I soon forgot about the night and got on with life.

Sunday I relaxed. Went for a few with my dad in the local. Monday was bank holiday Monday. Did nothing there too. Went Sisters and lounged there all day. Always on edge when I go there though. My sister and her husband Ceiran are always at each others throats. Recently (yesterday) she phoned me early in the morning wanting to speak to Dad because he had battered her senseless. She was crying her eyes out and so was their son, Jack who must be going through so much trauma. Its been going on for a while now. They argue and she comes running to my dads. Its been mostly verbal abuse up to now, but now that he’s starting to hit her, I want to get involved. I tried to supply her with a number for domestic abuse helpline, but she refused. Instead shes coming to live at ours for the weekend. Its getting so bad that my nephew often stays over at ours too. My niece just goes out with friends. Will see how it pans out. I want to say something to him, but being a person of a broader outlook on life, I know theres two sides to every story. I’ve heard his many times. She drinks, a lot, she causes arguments over things going on that’s on her mind and it just explodes. Best solution I see is if they split. They’ve not been happy for a while now and I see no love there.

During last week i spent a lot of time creating a superhero for a contest on a Facebook group i joined. Hope i win. Heres what i came up with thanks to UGO superhero maker

and heres the story behind the character.

Name: Supernova

Alias: Daniel Star

Powers: energy lightning, flight, regeneration and super speed

Background: Whist on a mission to explore the properties of an unknown vortex in space, Daniel Star and a group of well trained astronaughts accidentaly got trapped inside of the vortex. A mysterious force from another galaxy forewarned Daniel of a giant dark force travelling to dominate earth and gave him the choice to receive powers to combat the dark force, but at a cost. His crew mates would have to stay. Thinking of the greater good he reluctantly accepted and from that dayon became the amazing Supernova.

Phew… will have to update more often, these big catch ups are time consuming and lets be honest, no one wants to read an essay now…

I had a life, but facebook ate it.

Howdy,

not felt like updating blog over last couple of days due to lack of motivation and lack of events happening. It seems that all the events were saving themselves up for a rainy day... and now i report on them all.

Last weekend went by fast. Had Kallam on Saturday, which went by fast, wish i had more time to spend with him. He makes life more enjoyable. I didn't have Rhys at the time because for some reason or another he wanted to stay at home. He kicked, screamed, clawed his way back to the house when she tried to give him to me. In the end she kept him while I took Kallam.

The last couple of days went by in a haze, same usual stuff. Work, got home, went on comp and then went to my remshackle of a bedroom and step pumped up my blow up bed. how exciting.... then recently old friends have been popping up on Facebook. James, who I've not talked to in about 10 years, and friends i met through him (think I've mentioned in previous posts). Anyway, he asked me last night if i was interested in going on holiday with him and his fr
iend. Quite unsure about it, as I've not seen him in 10 years and hes like a stranger, even though he states he hasn't changed. We'll see though. He's invited me out for a drink at the weekend.

I've known James since infants and stayed friends through primary school through to High School. Wasn't the best of friendships, we used to be on and off friends mostly. This was either because he lied or for other reasons, which seem silly now. He has a totally different personality then me, mostly due to his upbringing. His father was a keen hunter, hunting anything from pheasants to rabbits. I'd often find a few dead rabbits in his bathroom and ferrets in the back yard. All of it i found amazing seeing as though i had quite a normal life compared to his. I got to know his family quite well back then and even went on holiday with them to Wales. The photo to the right is a school one showing me (in red, with glasses and pointy ears) and James (above me, with tracksuit and a scratch on photo, which i did during one of our friend tiffs). I'm happy to be in contact again non the less, even if we did have more arguments then good times lol

Another strange thing happened too. I was offered a place to stay. I'd have to pay rent and other stuff, but found out theres a bed and all the things I'd need. A lady, who i hardly know, but chat with from time to time, said I'd be welcome to stay. I'm hesitant to accept he offer, but said to myself I'd go and take a look to see what its like. I'll post photos up of the place when i can.

This upcoming weekends set to be a busy one. I have the kids overnight on Friday, Saturday I'm going to see Indy 4 with friends and sat night going out with James. Can't wait. 'Bout time i got social.

On a more funnier note, i found these pics, which had me LOL-in all over the show. They are from http://www.Worth100.com. The site is mainly based around Photoshop based contests to challenge designers to be creative and what not. I check to see how creative some can be and for a good laugh. Check it out.

This contest in question was entitled "If Babys Ruled the World". Check out some of the designs that some came up with. :P

My favorate is the motor pram, third from last lol. Will post more pics i find amusing at a later date.

Update ya Later!

Inner Exploration

The times come now where I feel the need to improve myself. Not sure of the plan yet, but a starts got to be made. Improve myself not as in plastic surgery or bloating up my man boobs, but basically skills and appearance.

I think I'll start with playing the guitar. I'm moderately good. I can pull off a few tunes and alls well, but when it comes to the songs i wanna really play... well that's just something I haven't quite mastered.

You'll probably notice two guitars float across above in my slide show. They are now gathering dust and not been used for a while. Shame really, they are two really good guitars. Its either learn to play or give to a good owner. I can do it if i get motivated enough.

After I've improved enough, I'll set about improving bigger things, say driving. Something I've been learning for a while, but never got around to passing any test. Every time I've come close to passing, something bad has happened in my life hindering me from driving. I wont get too much into it, but i will drive. oh yes. i will drive.... eventually... lol

Nothings happened recently event wise. Watched The IT Crowd all night. Its a funny TV show that sadly has been axed. Hilarious it was. Had me giggling all night. Need to watch the latest episode of Lost. Can't wait as its getting quite intense now. I'm all up to date with Smallville, which is getting all intense itself at the moment.

Tomorrow I'll be picking the kids up and probably taking them to my dads and places...

I found this quiz online. I love personality quizzes. This one tells me what my music taste says about me. Very truthful the results are. Try it out yourself. ;¬)

update ya later!

What Your Taste in Music Says About You

Your musical tastes are intense and rebellious.

You are intelligent... but in a very unconventional way.

You are curious about the world. You love doing something new.

In fact, you enjoy taking risks and doing things most people would shy away from.

You are very physical. It's likely that you're athletic, but not into team sports.

You have the soul of an artist. Beauty and harmony are important to you.

This blog entry is swank!

Isn’t my blog now looking *swanky! I think it looks way better and is better laid out.

*Swanky/Swank - Something or Someone who is super, unexplainably spiffy.

Eg. “Jethro is a swanky beast!”, “Damn man, that car is swank!”

Leave comments if you will as to how swank my new blog is please.

On with the blog, which I hope to update more often and hopefully get some people viewing more often as a result. Just a quick one for now.

Seems like I’ve fitted back into the role of black sheep of the family. Last night my dad, his girlfriend and her son stay out until the early morning with not so much of an invitation to their merrymaking activities (not like I would have gone, but it would have been appreciated to have been invited). They come in at about 2am, loud as a tribe of elephants chasing after a monkey through a fireworks factory to get his nuts and there’s me trying to get to sleep. In the end, as a last resort, after trying to cover my ears with everything in the room, I go and get my outside sound reducing earphones. Very uncomfortable to sleep in, but they did the trick. I quickly nodded off, while their laughter and extra loud music blared through the house.

Now I sit in work, tired eyed and wishing it was home time.... same thing might happen again, which will leave me pulling my hair out, but on with the positive thinking. I will get a good nights sleep...I will.

Going to have a big chunk of my wages taken already it seems. Agreements have been made to pay out £320 to a charity, all because my ex spent all of the raised money, we raised together (a band night back in March) for this charity when she was in need of money. She promises to pay me back. Fingers crossed. My plans to buy an x-box might be out of the window, but we’ll see.

Will update tomorrow hopefully, if I’m still awake.

adios

P.S. INTERESTING FACT OF THE DAY: FOLDING ARMS

The history behind the gesture of defensively folding arms can be traced back to medieval times.

Knights during the breaks when dueling with swords for recreation or in real fighting tourniments used to give their sword to their squire, and then rest their "sword arm" on their less dominent hand by crossing arms to rest it. This still enabled them to be able to fight at short notice if needs be. The gesture has lived on until the present day, where people cross their arms in a defensive manner when they are insecure about themselves. Most people associate this gesture with being a closed person as opposed to an extroverted person.

A Case of Blogger's Block

I'm having trouble putting stuff down into a blog. I search the catacombes and deep recesses of my mind for something worthwhile to blog about, but alas, nothing presents itself....

Mental Note: No, the word "alas" is not a forgotten one, but is a word that shall be spoken again amongst ourselves. Bring forth words of days of yore, and let them be heard again. Maybe its just me with my facination with fantasy novels from authors such as Tolkien and Gemmell. A well placed "alas" in a conversation gives one a sence of eccentricity and will make one stand out from the crowd. Either that or make the said person look a fool. hmmm more thought needs to be put into whether or not to use alas.... maybe just in online writing then lol

So..... what to write, what to write?

The weekend! Thats a good place as ever. Got in Friday to an empty house. Everyone was at the pub. So I got changed into casual clothes. So speedy that Superman would be suprised. Sweaty shirt isn't a thing i want to stay in when at home.

I tend to walk fast everywhere, which is just some sort of habbit. Why? i don't know, but i always end up arriving to my destination early, knackered (tired) and a bit sweaty, whcih just isn't good. My mission is to start trying to slow down and enjoy a good casual walk arriving on time, but not too late or early and not tired in any way. Lets see if i can do it.

Anyways, upon departing from my work attire, i set about lazing about on my dad'ss girlfriend's pink leather couch.... not the best of colours, but its really comfy. The usual was on Paul O'Grady, a chat show which has me laughing more often then not. After that and after a quick bite, i head upstairs to go on net.... How exciting. Then off to bed.

Saturday cometh! and i quickly brush up my appearance and set off to go and pick the kids up for their Daddy Day. Upon arriving at casa del bitchio, i notice that shes making an effort to improve the joint. Good for her, its in need of a good doing over. I never enter the house though, as i feel uninvited, so i just stand outside waiting for her to prep the kids for departure. She gathers Kallam and plonks him into the pram and as soon as he sees me, he smiles and at that exact moment, he makes my day. The fact that he remembers me after a week of not seeing me means the world to me. His smile is amazing. He is one amazing boy. His eyes are amazing too, a misty shocking blue.

But alas! Rhys starts to play up. He kicks and screams saying that he does not want to go with me and that he wants to stay. His tantrums were because he had needles earlier that morning and he was feeling crabby, fair enough, i just wanted to be on my way, but Kay wanted me to take him, trying numerous ways to pawn him off on me and no way was i going to be dragging him, litterally, along. In the end, she gave up and i set on my way. Got on the bus, a ritual transport for mothers and their prams and squeezed on somehow amongst the other prams and set off on the long journey from Runcorn to the neighbouring town of Widnes (my birthplace). For future reference i've attached a map of the area below. The red being my father's house and where i am staying now, the blue dot being Casa del Bitchio.

So, i get there eventually. Spent the glorious hours of time with Kallam that i cherish so much. My dad loves the time too. At one time laughin histerically over something simple as feeding kallam. Something about how he opens his mouth when i do the airplane noises when feeding him. It had me laughing too, to see my dad so happy. Took him back without anything to report on, so that was Saturday over with.

Sunday came and went like dust in the wind. Nothing to report on there. well, apart from getting in touch with friends i havn't heard of in over 10 years. It was good to hear that they are all doing well. One was my best bud James Pritchard. Well, I say best buds loosley as we always seemed to be arguing and fighting over something or other. lol Known him since primary school when i was around 7/8 years old i think. The other people i found thanks to the miraculous Facebook was the friends i met through him. It is also good to see how they are doing after so long. Seems I have the most lived out life out of all of them, not sure if thats good apart from gaining experience. On Sundays as well, i find myself longing to be in the company of friends who may live near or far, but have not the time or money to go see them. One friend in particular, i'd love to spend time with and get to know, but the distance thing makes it impossible. oh well.

Thats another essay of a blog over with. It seems i did have something to blog about in the end didn't i? I wonder whats an appropriate length of a blog anyway? Do i blabber on too much?

till next time.
