Something She Said

Howdy readers! (yeah i know i just said howdy. I'm ashamed)

updates, updates, updates. Not many in fact, but enough to pass the time.

On Wednesday night went to a local pub for the exclusive premiere of Something She Said by a local band called Kessler. They were expecting a good turn out, but not many turned up. We all still had a wail of a time on the karaoke. I sang Your Song by Elton John. I thought it sounded real bad, but apparently everyone loved it. Had a few pints while out and in no time i was singing along with the people who came. Wendy for one a 35 yr old was belting out songs (mostly classic rock songs, like Whitesnake and Bon Jovi). She rocked, but alas, not my type and was with someone. Good friend though. She is learning me up on photograph too in spare time.

The video showing came along and my gosh, it rocked. Check it out below. They hired a proper actor, who has played parts in Hollyoaks and Corronation Street, to be in the video as well as a ex-Miss England contestant. So a lot of effort was put into it and i think it shows. Don't forget to check the little vids at the end, it promises to have you laughin.

So after all that was done, I had two days off work. Nothing much to report on there. Having a vast amount of sleep and just basically lazing around all day.

will update when someone happens lol

Tagged! agh!

I've been tagged in another blog to do this forward questionnaire thingy. Fair enough, i'm game.

The Rules: Rules are posted at the beginning. At the end of the post, the player tags someone(or someones) and posts their name(s). Then the player goes to each of the “named” people’s blogs and leaves a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged. If you’ve been tagged, you do the same, letting the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer. Your answer is the answer to the following questions.

1. What was I doing 10 years ago?

aaah, back in the day. I was 15 and the world was my oyster. I was still in school and didn't really realise the full value of education, choosing to skip classes rather then get my head down in text books and the like. I used to hang around with a gang of lads outside of school, a bunch of misfits, who chose to vandalise and hand around shops.

2. What are 5 things on my to-do list today?

1. relax.

2. decide what to do tomorrow

3. eat

4. watch tv

5. sleep (aint my life fun)

3. Snacks I enjoy:

Crisps, biscuits, yoghuts, sweets, and pork cracklin

4. Places I’ve lived:

in and around Widnes, where i live now

5. Things I would do if I were a billionaire:

donate a generous amount of money to research for major diseases and illneses. Then spoil myself, family and friends.

And now, I tag…

Feeling Used

Just another quick one. My main blog entry is below.

Found out last night, my beloved nephew Conah, who have feel I have played an active part in raising him along with his mother, has used the landline at our house to buy credits for a chat site called Habbo Hotel.

When my dad's girlfriend asked me if I recognised some numbers that were dialled recently, i set about investigating into it. Upon phoning the number which started 090 something or other, i quickly realised what was going on. My nephew and his friend had been asking to use our landline to supposedly call "their mum", but having looked at the bill over 40 calls in the last month have been placed to his premium number to buy credits for Habbo costing over £2 each. £80 have been charged to the bill! Jeez Louise I nearly had a heart attack.

I haven't spoke to him yet. I don't really want to, as I feel hes let us down. I will go straight to his mum, my sister Mandy to tell her, as he might be using her landline also.

My dad has said that everyone in the house will split the phone bill and we will all pay for it, but its the principle of the whole thing. I can understand the whole addiction, because I used to go on Habbo a lot and wanted to buy credits, but when I went on there wasn't the option to buy them through landline!. hmm, will look into this. It seems wrong somehow that this social site would allow payment through means such as that. Will update soon.

Hair today, gone tomorrow

I seriously have to cut down on spiking my hair up, well at least with the hair gel I currently use. L’orèal Studioline Indestructible Gel. After using it nonstop for about a week at a time I noticed that strands of hair was starting to come away in my hands. Not good. So today I’ve opted to have my hair down. Normal. Boring. I kinda think spiked hair shows my personality off, random, sharp and weird. I dunno. Maybe it’s time for a change. God knows what to. I’ve had spiked hair for a while now. Any ideas?

Anyways, onto other topics. I did earlier this year decide to visit my good friend on t’net Emma. It is a very good idea and one I will stick too. Although the plan had to be moved back a bit due to my ex asking me last minute to mind my son while she scoots away on holiday with her friend abroad. Typical. Therefore, I’m thinking around October maybe. I’m sure the trip will be a much needed break from my life. I met her through Facebook, she was going through a bad phase and I helped her out and became blog buddies shortly afterwards.

She’s helped me through some troublesome times too. Mucho Gracias Emmie. Her blog can be found in my Soft Blog Roll to the right of here under Emma’s Dilemmas and Great Expectations, a good read, check it out folks. She lives in Leicester, a place far away from where I call home to the south, but it’s a trip I’m looking forward to. I’ll keep you all updated about how the prep goes with finding a hotel and stuff closer to the time.

Onto another random topic.... don’t you just hate spiteful ex friends. You’ll understand what I mean by the end of these paragraphs. I became friends with a guy who was in a band a couple of years back. He was cool and he was a loner and always seemed to think that my relationship with my ex wouldn’t last and stuff. Due to one reason or another, we ended our friendship. I can’t remember why. I think he just moved onto a new group of friends and we just drifted apart from there.

Well, randomly he messages me out of the blue on MSN, even though I deleted him from my contacts a while back saying stuff like “told you it wouldn’t last”, “how do you feel having someone else bring up your child?” referring to Nick (the person who I think is seeing my ex now), “do you know he holds Kallam?” and saying stuff along the same lines just to strike a nerve or two, which it did but not because of the topic of the questions, but the fact that he’d try something like that. Well, I just replied non-emotionally with one worded answers and showed I wasn’t going to be thrown by his questions. Do you understand what I mean now? Spiteful ex friends. Grr. He’ll probably try it again when he hears something that’s happening in casa del bitchio or something I’ve done wrong.

Anyways, onto yet another topic. Don’t you just hate really bad adverts. They seem to be in abundance lately. To name a few, The Dairy Milk advert just showing a race between airport motor vehicles (wow....), the Extra advert just showing people crowded in a room (double wow....), the Muller Rice advert showing a boring guy travelling the world seeking tastier desserts (omg so amazing....), or even worse! The fighting plaque advert just showing a guy dressed in white fighting something invisible to a guy playing a guitar. Where have all the good adverts gone? Why can’t we have something good to watch In between TV shows? They have the money, why not make one that is good to watch at least?

What is a good TV advert though? In my view, its adverts that make you go “WOW!, its good how they did that isn’t it?”. I’m sorry for ranting, but it really gets on my nerves how really dire adverts are getting. To show an example of a really good advert, I’ve exhibited one below. Now that is a good advert.

I rest my case. Rant over. On with the next day! See ya ;¬)

*disclaimer* i in no way advertise these products, just mention them within my blog

double bed comforts

Yes, I finally have a bed. I've been promoted in the bed department.

Firstly, I had a makeshift inflatable one, which had a puncture. Then I had a 6ft long cushion as a bed. But now.... alas! I have a double bed all to myself. Yeah, it may squeak due to old springs and the mattress may be a little on the worn side, but it’s still a bed. Go me! After about a month of my dad and his girlfriend saying that they are going to buy a new bed for themselves, they actually did it at the weekend and yesterday night I and Andy assembled it. Blood, sweat and tears were produced upon completion of the bed.

We made a meaty job of a supposedly easy task. We had one minor fault on our part when we got the headboard the wrong way round. lol There was no screwdriver to be seen though and most of the assembly involved screwing screws into the wood without any pilot holes to guide it in. Nightmare! We found a Swiss army knife/pliers thingy and set about using that, but it ripped our hands apart hence the blood and tears. Eventually, I found some safety gloves and managed to complete the screwing of the screws. When assembling the bed, it looked very unstable and looked as though it couldn't take much weight, but having put it all together, it was quite stable and looked decent enough. (as soon as I get my mobile working, I’ll take camera shots of day to day events to add to my blog, as for now just imagine lol)

After a gruelling hour or so, we flopped onto the couch and slouched. I tried to wrangle a beer or two out of my dad for doing the bed for him, but no luck there...

Then for the rest of the night searched the web for free piano lessons. I recently found my old keyboard and have gone into a learn the piano phase. My phases only last a short time as my attention goes to and from different things all the time. Hopefully, I’ll stick to the piano. I quite enjoyed learning last night though I must admit. The video I found showed me how to play Mary Had a Little Lamb in varying stages of difficulty using two hands independently. If I get to play any popular songs on piano, when I get to that stage, I’ll post up a sound clip of it. I can already play the guitar, but not as good as I want to really. I may pluck up the courage to record myself singing and playing some day. Watch this space.

Nothin much else to report on, i'll update soon though, have no fear ;¬)

P.s I'm an avid gamer, and love computer games. I've grown up with them. Heres a trailer for an upcoming game i can't wait to play. The newest Prince of Persia Game. Excited much!.

Socal Experiment 1

After the last blog, like I said I would, I went out that night on a night out to a gig and an after drink with people I know. While there I tried to create conversations and "come out of my shell" so to speak. To sum it up, I found myself subconciously concentrating on the music then anyone else i realised afterwards. I did at times stand by people, but lacking the confidence to go all the way and talk about things, "small talk". As the night went on, i ate myself from within getting frustrated and isolating myself more... felt really pathetic..

So, after failing dismally when experimenting on trying to socialise. I got a taxi home and left it at that. Took a test today to discover a bit more about the way i am. here are the results.

Click to view my Personality Profile page

hhmm, I'm a INFP....wooo!..... wait there..... whats an INFP??? well, heres what personality.info says about it:

"INFPs are introspective, private, creative and highly idealistic individuals that have a constant desire to be on a meaningful path. They are driven by their values and seek peace. Empathetic and compassionate, they want to help others and humanity as a whole. INFPs are imaginitive, artistic and often have a talent for language and writing. They can also be described as easygoing, selfless, guarded, adaptable, patient and loyal."

Fair enough, that seems to describe me to a tee. the paragraph above doesn't seem to explain much, the only sign of introvertism seems to be from the graph that came with it, saying i'm 73% introvert. Thats quite high. Wish i wasn't so. Apparently, there are many famous people just like me. To name a few: J. R. R. Tolkien - author of Lord of the Rings and other cool books (coool, so far,so good), Scott Bakula - from Quantum Leap, Enterprise (fabby, hes amazing), and lisa kudrow - famous for staring in Friends. So, it seems even though amongst other things, their introvertism hasn't hindered them, but in fact they seem to have overcome it or found out how to live with it. Maybe being shy and inward is something i will just have to accept as something i have and live with it. Its not like a mental illness, so thats all right with me. Maybe if i accept that its not a crippling mental illness, i will in turn become more self-confident.

Anyways, look at the other characteristics.. creative, highly idealistic, empathic, compassionate, easygoing, selfless, guarded, adaptable, patient and loyal. Sounds like me. Thats me in a nutshell. Hello! nice to meetyou.

You all can do your personality test at http://www.personality.info. Well worth a check if you wanna discover yourself.

As for goings on, i had the kids at weekend, had a great day. Went park and to see friends, and to a kids place called Sues Madhouse. It has a great play frame for kids (and is amazing for adults to go chasing kids in as well). Couldn't go in it this time though, had to look after Kallam instead. Rhys seemed to have fun though. Below is a photo of it. Doesn't it look massive!

So after a hectic day i went home and rested the entire night. Thats about it. will update some other time. Ciao!
